Congratulations to Dustin Clyde from Dublin, California who has been voted the May 2020 PFRE Videographer of the Month.
What Dustin had to say...
Wow! This comes as a huge surprise. I have been admiring the photo and video contest submissions from afar for years, but this was the first time I built up the courage to submit something. I mainly just do real estate
photography here in The Bay Area, but I get a handful of video projects a year. This project was for one of my oldest clients who had never ordered a video before. He asked about video this time because of the shelter in place order. He stayed away and trusted me to do my thing, which is a creative person's dream.
I shot it on the 5D Mark IV (c-log), using the Weebill S stabilizer, and the Mavic Pro 2. Everything was captured in 1080p 60fps, and the final video was exported at 24fps. I edited, and color corrected it all in DaVinci Resolve.
To me, the most important part is finding the right song. If I can find a track that I like and that works with the tempo of the footage, then the edit comes along easily. It's exciting to me when things like cuts and speed ramps fit nicely into a certain part of the song.
Thank you so much to everyone at PFRE for this. I'm looking forward to Vegas again this year for the conference. Until then, stay safe and healthy!
